Oxygen (O2) is a molecule composed of two oxygen atoms. When oxygen flows into an ozone machine, a spark is used to add a third oxygen atom, creating ozone (O3).

Ozone is a highly unstable molecule that wants to bind with free radicals, oxygenating the surrounding tissues in the process. Ozone is a strong antiviral, antibacterial, antiparasitic and anticandidal agent.

Ozone therapies can include the use of ultraviolet light therapy called Major Autohemotherapy where the patient’s blood is treated with UV light and ozone. This type of ozone therapy can help chronic ailments not assisted by any other means. Other forms of ozone therapy include ozone injections and ear insufflations.

Ozone therapies have been popular with conditions such as chronic joint pain, pain syndromes, diabetic foot ulcers, cancerous ulcers, dental abscesses and most recently varicose veins.
