For Men

Notes from the Doctor

I have been reviewing DVD’s from Doctor Dietrich Klinghardt, who is a medical doctor who specializes in natural medicine, and especially Lymes disease and autism.  I would like to pass on some interesting things from the tapes.

Mercury causes Alzeheimer’s disease and brain dysfunction.  Almost all fish have mercury in their flesh, but eating the fish protects you from the damage of the heavy metals.  So, the caveat is to eat your fish!  Fish lowest in mercury are catfish, blue crab, croaker, flounder, haddock, trout.  Fish highest in mercury are shark, swordfish, tilefish, and tuna steak.

The prions (microscopic evidence) of mad cow disease are found in farmed fish.  It is very rare to get wild fish at a restaurant.  I would recommend you buy wild fish and eat it at home, or scrutinize your restaurants as to whether they serve wild fish.

Cordless phones have strong electromagnetic influences on humans.  It is recommended that you have phones that plug into the wall (this is safest), or cell phones.  Cell phones have electromagnetic pollution as well.  Never hold the phone to your head, use speaker phone.  Check your teenaged girls, they like to have their phones under their pillows at night.  This is very prolonged exposure and dangerous.  Don’t wear your cell phone, or you will certainly have problems in the part of the body closeby.  If you have to have a cordless phone, unplug it at night.

Black clothes dampen the immune system, which can be seen in measurable blood tests.  Wear rainbow colors!

A patient told me that Ivory soap bar under the sheets helped his restless legs!  Anyone else have any experience with this?

From the Doctor – Questions and Answers

Google any health topic and you will find far too much information! And, since many studies contradict other studies, trying to sort through all those websites could take years. Here are some answers to commonly asked questions regarding health and hormones:
Q. My understanding is that testosterone causes cancer in the prostate. Is this true?
A. Prostate cancer is present in an average of 1 of 7 men with a PSA (the blood test measuring the prostate specific antigen) of less than 4 (Urology 68 (6), 2006). Thousands, if not millions of men are on testosterone now, and there has been no resurgence in prostate cancer. Therefore, we can conclude that testosterone has not caused an increased incidence of cancer in the prostate.

Q. My husband is taking testosterone, and his testicles have shrunk. Does this mean he’s sterile?
A. Absolutely not. Use birth control if you do not want children.

Q. What is the best type of calcium to take?
A. Calcium carbonate is contaminated with lead. Calcium gluconate or calcium lactate or coral calcium that is easily assimilated would be better choices.

Q. I had terrible muscle pains with Lipator. Can I take red rice yeast?
A. Yes, the red rice yeast does not seem to be associated with this side effect, even though this product acts very much like the Lipator.

Q. Does taking Vitamin C protect my heart?
A. Yes, the mortality was half in the group of research subjects with the highest Vitamin C
levels (Lancet 2001;357-63). A prudent dose would be at least 2000 mg per day.

Q. I have prostate cancer, and I understand I should take multi-vitamin and multi-mineral daily. Is this true?
A Partially true, your multi-mineral should not contain iron or copper in your circumstance.

Q. Progesterone is […]

Optimization of Hormone Replacement Therapy

For women afraid to take estrogen and other hormones, the reasons to take hormones include prevention of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s disease. depression, memory loss, colorectal cancer, macular degeneration of the retina, and cataracts.  No one has to take hormones, but why would you not want to enhance your health in so many varied ways?  –Estrogen, combined with progesterone, does not cause an increase in cancer risk.
Fibromyalgia may be hormone resistence (especially of the thyroid).
Melatonin taken at night (starting at 3 mg) has very potent anti-cancer effects, and can turn grey hair back to it’s original color. We have this available in our pharmacy.
Men’s free testosterone should be around 40.  If you would like to know your free testosterone, we can draw you in our clinic.
Hormone testing (to determine if your hormones are optimal), will immediately be converted to blood testing 5 hours after your dose of hormones.  If you have saliva tests to test how your hormones are working, please call Michele, and we will credit your account for the saliva test.  We cannot do this if the hormone sample has been sent in.  We will still use saliva testing for people starting hormones and who have never taken hormones.
I believe I have been underprescribing progesterone.  If you feel that your progesterone is not working, we will need to convert you to progesterone triturates (which dissolve under the tongue).  Please call the office if you want me to prescribe what will be a more absorbable form of progesterone.  Dr. Rouzier feels all over-the-counter progesterone is worthless.  If you are getting symptom relief, continue.  If not, let’s convert your progesterone.
Dr Rouzier feels there are no over-the-counter HGH (human growth hormone) supplements that work.  Unfortunately, […]

Testosterone implanted pellets for low libido

I have been implanting testosterone pellets under the skin for both men and women.

The pellets are a great stimulator of libido, even more noticeable than the cream.

“It took my libido from a zero to a 9 (on a scale of 10), and before the pellet, I might think about sex every three months.  Now it’s daily.”  PW from Nampa.

When she asked her husband if she should continue, he gave his enthusiastic “YES”.

If interested, please contact the  office, or we can talk to you about this option at your annual exam.
